- Activity Description:
- Celebrate International Walk to School Month with Walk About For All! Get your students walking in a fun and creative way while implementing DPA.
- Overview:

- Establish a route to move throughout the activity area. This route will be followed during the entire activity.
- Starting at various points in the route, students begin walking briskly around the route.
- The first student performs a specific movement for the entire group to imitate for one lap of the route.
- After one lap, the next student in line performs a new movement for all to follow while continuously walking the route.
- Each student takes a turn being the leader. If time allows, start over with the first student.
- Movement Ideas

Fitness movements: jumps, lunges, arm rotations, biceps curls, high knees, skipping, galloping. Sport movements: various swimming strokes, golf swings, hockey shots, volleyball jumps, basketball dribbles and shots, baseball fielding and throws. Dance movements: disco strut, Highland kicks, can-can kicks, twist, limbo, chicken or Macarena, grapevine, hustle. Unlimited possibilities: animal movements, vehicle movements, soldier’s march, crab-walk. - Source:
